Phone System Deployment & Management

VoIP and unified communications for Houston businesses, deployed and supported.

How It Works

Phone systems are replaced for one of two reasons: the old platform is being sunset, or the current one cannot follow staff between the office, home, and a customer site.

We scope the real requirements first — call flows, auto-attendants, hunt groups, e911 obligations, recording where it is required, and how many people genuinely need a desk handset. Number porting is planned in detail because it is the step most likely to hurt, and the cutover is scheduled with a rollback path.

After go-live, the system is supported alongside your network and internet connectivity by the same team, so call quality problems do not turn into a three-vendor argument.

Key Benefits

  • Number porting planned and rehearsed — the step most likely to disrupt a cutover
  • Call flows, auto-attendants and hunt groups configured around how your team actually answers calls
  • e911 and call-recording obligations addressed during design rather than discovered afterwards
  • Handset, softphone and mobile options costed honestly, so you are not licensing desk phones nobody uses
  • Supported alongside your network and ISP by one team, so call-quality issues have a single owner

Phone System Deployment & Management — common questions

How much does a VoIP phone system cost for a Houston small business?
Most VoIP platforms bill per user per month, so headcount is the main driver — but the honest cost also includes number porting, any handsets you genuinely need, and the network work to prioritise voice traffic. ECS scopes those together, because a low per-seat price on inadequate connectivity produces call quality problems that cost far more than the licence.
Will we keep our existing phone numbers?
Yes — numbers are ported to the new platform. Porting is the step most likely to disrupt a cutover, so we plan it in detail: confirming the losing carrier account details, scheduling the port window, and keeping the old service live until the new one is verified. Rushed ports are how businesses end up unreachable for an afternoon.
Do we still need desk phones?
Fewer than most vendors will sell you. Softphones and mobile apps cover the majority of staff; desk handsets still make sense for reception, shared areas, warehouses, and anyone on calls continuously. We cost the mix honestly rather than quoting a handset per head.
What about e911 and call recording obligations?
Both are addressed during design, not after go-live. E911 requires accurate dispatchable location per device, which matters for multi-floor and multi-site offices, and recording requirements vary by industry and consent rules. We configure to what your obligations actually are and document the result.
