Network & Cabling Infrastructure

Structured cabling, Wi-Fi and switching for Houston offices, warehouses and clinics.

How It Works

Cabling is invisible right up until it is the reason a floor cannot work — a move-in that slips, dead spots in a warehouse, or a rack nobody can safely change because it was never labelled.

We survey the site, plan drops and pathways around how the space is actually used, and install to standard with tested and labelled terminations. That covers structured cabling, switching, Wi-Fi coverage design, and rack build-outs for offices, clinics, and industrial space across Greater Houston.

You are handed as-built documentation and test results at the end, so the next change — yours or ours — starts from a known state instead of a guess.

Key Benefits

  • Site survey and pathway planning before anything is pulled, sized to how the space will actually be used
  • Certified, labelled and tested terminations with as-built documentation handed over at completion
  • Wi-Fi coverage designed for the building — warehouse, clinic, or open office all behave differently
  • Cutovers scheduled around your operations, including after-hours and phased moves
  • Coordinated with the same team that runs your network day to day, so nothing is thrown over a wall

Network & Cabling Infrastructure — common questions

How much does structured cabling cost in Houston?
Pricing is driven by drop count, cable category, pathway difficulty, and whether work happens during business hours. An open-plan office with accessible ceilings is straightforward; a warehouse, a clinic with infection-control constraints, or a building with limited risers costs more per drop. ECS surveys the site before quoting, so the number you get reflects your building rather than an average.
Cat6 or Cat6A — which do we actually need?
Cat6 handles gigabit comfortably and 10-gigabit over short runs, and suits most offices. Cat6A is worth the extra cost for longer runs, dense wireless deployments feeding high-throughput access points, or when you expect the cabling to outlast two or three equipment refreshes. We recommend based on run lengths and what the space will be used for, not on a default.
Can the work happen without shutting down our office?
Usually, yes. Most installations are staged area by area, with cutovers scheduled after hours or over a weekend. For occupied clinical and industrial spaces we sequence around your operations and agree the disruptive steps in advance rather than discovering them on the day.
What do we get when the job is finished?
Labelled terminations, certification test results for every run, and as-built documentation showing what lands where. That handover matters: it means the next change — by us or anyone else — starts from a known state instead of tracing cables by hand.
