DaaS (Desktop as a Service)
Cloud desktops for Houston teams needing secure access from anywhere.
How It Works
Cloud desktops solve a specific problem well: staff who need the same secure environment from the office, from home, and from a laptop bought that morning to replace a failed one.
We assess which roles genuinely benefit — task-based and shift users usually do, heavy graphics and latency-sensitive work usually does not — then design the environment, profile management and licensing around that answer.
Company data stays in the datacentre rather than scattered across personal devices, new starters are provisioned in minutes, and leavers are cut off just as quickly.
Key Benefits
- Consistent desktops reachable from home, a customer site, or a replacement laptop bought that morning
- Company data staying in the datacentre rather than scattered across personal devices
- New starters provisioned in minutes, and leavers cut off just as quickly
- Contractors and seasonal staff supported without buying and shipping hardware
- Sized and costed honestly — cloud desktops suit some roles and are poor value for others, and we will say which
DaaS (Desktop as a Service) — common questions
- Rarely cheaper on paper, and that is the wrong comparison. Cloud desktops win where hardware failure cannot stop someone working, where contractors and seasonal staff come and go, or where data must not live on the device. If your team has stable, long-lived hardware needs, ordinary managed laptops are usually better value — and we will say so.
- Anything latency-sensitive or graphics-heavy — CAD, video editing, large engineering models — generally performs worse on a cloud desktop than local hardware. Field staff on unreliable connections also suffer. We assess role by role rather than moving everyone.
- Cloud desktops need connectivity, so this is a genuine trade-off rather than something to gloss over. Where DaaS is the right answer we design connectivity to match — a secondary circuit or failover, so an outage degrades service instead of stopping work entirely.
